• Qualtrics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build our next gen text analytics services

How You’ll Find Success

• Our team is on the cutting edge of Qualtrics’ new AI offerings. 
• You’ll be working in a fast paced environment, and will be expected to participate in requirements gathering, design and architecture discussions, full stack development, and code reviews. 
• You will need to take ownership of your feature and drive its development and delivery. Your week to week will also involve operational excellence and quality improvements. 
• We also expect our staff contributors to be excellent communicators, who influence the technical direction of the team and mentor junior engineers who work alongside them. 
• With a strong sense of ownership, and with curiosity to always try to find a better way, you will find success on this team and in Qualtrics.

How You’ll Grow

• You will be challenged to push the state of the art in LLMs and other AI capabilities, finding ways to delight customers and solve their most important use cases.
• You will work across a breadth of technologies, touching all levels of the stack from Kubernetes, NodeJS services, React, databases, AWS cloud services and more.
• You will participate in design and architecture discussions with your peers, gaining insight from their experiences.

Things You’ll Do

• Develop both frontend features and backend services, APIs to extend our text analytics platform
• Teach and mentor other engineers, lead projects and initiatives
• Drive new innovation by working closely with Machine Learning and Applied Science engineering teams to leverage state of the art in ML and LLMs   
• Participate in scrum meetings, design+architecture sessions, collaborate w/engineers, product and quality to prioritize and ship features and improvements

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Project/feature lead experience
• Strong background in systems architecture, unix, linux, command line tooling and open source.
• Strong front-end experience with modern Javascript/Typescript, ReactJS, Redux, CSS, SaSS, Node.js, etc...
• Strong backend development experience in one or more languages like TypeScript, Java, Scala, Javascript, Go, Python, C#
• Passion for delivering products end-to-end: from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing, analytics
• Familiarity with different database technologies, SQL and NoSQL options like MySQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB
• Experience with professional software engineering practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documents)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or suitable industry experience

• Topics Core Platform team and the Enrichment organization more broadly is responsible for developing the foundational services and platforms needed to provide deep, feature-rich text analytics capabilities to our customers. 
• We have exciting new features and projects which are exploring how we can leverage AI and ML to improve our customer experience in using our systems, and improve how we provide value to our users. 
• We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about working with stakeholders to identify and solve problems, who works well with others across disciplines, and can empathize with our customers' needs.
