Job Overview - Dept Description and Job Duties:
The BDC BTUWB VI team is looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT RFDVT test team in Bangalore. The team will work closely with the RFA, RFS, Modem Systems, FW team, Characterization teams and colleagues of our team across Geos on Bring up, Evaluation, optimization, and enhancement of the radio performance of Qualcomm silicon radios. The Team plays a pivotal role in supporting development of complex radio/modem features, validation of them for the company’s Connectivity products from pre-production samples to commercialization stage and support post commercialization issues. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across engineering disciplines from high level SOC to low-level hardware. During this time, the team will be the lead source of system-level RF test data, providing target testing and reports to R&D teams across the Qualcomm family to inform them of the latest status of each product’s development evolution against Key Performance Metrics.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include:
- Performing RF DVT Execution, reviewing RF performance data and reporting performance results, issues, bugs to leads and other teams within company.
- Collaborate with cross functional team members to troubleshoot radio issues and find solutions that are documented and shared with internal cross functional teams working on similar products.
- Focusing on all aspects of the silicon design that influence the performance, qualification and test of the connectivity radios, including elements of the embedded firmware for Radio Control and defining the Production Test strategy and test limits for the radio.
- Validation, debug of Software and hardware features, testing issues.
- The Engineer will be assigned to a project and be responsible for the performance and operation of the radio, interfacing directly with analogue and digital designers, systems engineers, and radio control FW engineers to provide a complete radio system solution for verification and validation in characterization over temperature and process skews.
- Developing RF test cases in Python
- Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers
- Working with colleagues to optimize automated test solutions.
- Working with other and leading team members to plan development, testing, and maintenance work
Communication is a key part of the role, and it is most suited to someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can be an enthusiastic collaborator with colleagues from both inside and outside the Characterization team. Strong written and verbal communications skills in English are a must.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution.
At least 2 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution.
At least 1 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role

Attributes required:
- Good working knowledge of Radio fundamentals, calibration algorithms, especially Bluetooth, WiFi, UWB
- Experience of working with automation testing & test scripts creation
- Knowledge of RF lab equipment’s including Spectrum analyzer, vector signal generator, combiners, Bluetooth testers, Oscilloscopes etc.
- Good understanding of RF metrics
- A good understanding of electronic hardware and reading schematics
- Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
- Knowledge of Issue Tracking tools – e.g., JIRA, Microsoft DevOps, etc.
- Proficient in Python programming and C# programming experience preferred.
- A good level of Signal processing and radio communication knowledge
- Self-motivated, adaptable team player. Good hands-on experience in testing and debugging complex issues preferred.
- Comfortable with responsibility and with taking responsibility for their team. Task-orientated and results-driven
- A proven track record of successful collaborative working with colleagues, teams across geos and delivering tasks to schedule is preferred.
- Able to work efficiently, flexibly and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment
