General Summary:

As a Qualcomm IE-IoT Platform Hardware Engineer, you will plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, including Digital and Analog circuits, which launch cutting-edge, world class products in the IoT market space. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to meet performance requirements.

A successful candidate should have knowledge of and preferably experience in electronic system design ranging from handheld devices to industrial computing. Knowledge of component selection, electronics system design, PCB design, and signal integrity are key, with knowledge of PCB manufacturing, CCA assembly, and Final Assembly and Test as a plus. 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate electronic systems, select components, and execute or guide PCB layout for retail and industrial electronic equipment.

• Collaborate with internal or 3rd party manufacturing contacts to fabricate hardware systems

• Develop new and impactful designs

• Conduct detailed reviews and analysis of designs to ensure implementation meets appropriate power, performance, area, compliance, and cost

• Coordinates or conducts specialized analyses (e.g., feasibility studies, signal integrity, power integrity, etc.) to verify design performance

• Test development systems to ensure performance and compliance requirements are met

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 0-5 years of Hardware Engineering experience or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 0-2 years of Hardware Engineering experience or related work experience.

• Experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software. 

• Experience with hardware system validation and standard measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, etc.). 

• Ability to travel internationally to US, India, Europe, and China as required by project schedules

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
