As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards.
This is an advanced development role in the area of GNSS Precise Positioning Technologies. The role is part of a strong Location Technology systems engineering team and will design, simulate and develop advanced algorithms to achieve decimeter and centimeter level accuracies in GNSS Positioning for high volume commercial products. The successful candidate will be responsible for algorithm development, performance predictions, implementation optimizations and oversee software implementation and commercialization of these algorithms into Qualcomm products catering to multiple product lines.
The successful candidate is required to possess expert knowledge and experience in GNSS Precise Positioning Technologies including RTK, PPP and integration of these technologies with Inertial sensors and other positioning technologies. Also expertise in GNSS error modeling and error mitigation is required for Space Segment errors, channel errors and receiver errors. Successful candidate is required to have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in using GNSS error modeling to improve GNSS accuracy.
Experience and expertise in areas of GNSS signal processing, Estimation Theory, Kalman Filtering, GNSS Positioning integrated with inertial sensor technologies is highly desired.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of 4G/5G/6G systems and associated cellular standards (e.g., 3GPP NR, LTE, LTE, 3G).
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Staff level and above).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages advanced Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met.
• Performs complex functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.
• Develops and analyzes complex system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management teams, engineering teams, etc.) to complete project work, including implementing and verifying the system.
• Develops algorithms and works on new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for a product or feature area.
• Drives triage of complex problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to internal and external stakeholders.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$151,800.00 - $227,800.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
