Engineer, Sr. Staff

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 

• 10+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.  

• Experience in a customer-facing role. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages expert Software Application knowledge to provide critical technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products.

• Collaborates with high-level representatives across functions and customer personnel to identify complex customer problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend innovative solutions.

• Leads team in critical system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches.

• Acts as a technical expert across teams for assessing potential application of company products, preparing product specifications, disseminating highly technical information on specific software areas, and/or troubleshooting highly complex issues regarding software tools and products. 

• Writes highly complex product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs; reviews technical documentation for experienced engineers.

Level of Responsibility:

• Provides supervision to direct reports.

• Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.

• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. 

• Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions.

• Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
