General Summary:

Qualcomm Multimedia Validation and Integration team is a part of the Visual-Technology team and is responsible for the overall quality of Multimedia-IP in Silicon.

As a member of our MMVI team, the candidate will develop suite for verifying, validating, integrating, and debugging advanced multimedia intellectual property and related system functions in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments of Multimedia/Imaging-cores, will contribute to the bring-up, integration, debug, and quality assurance of next-generation SoCs and system platforms used in mobile, compute, AI acceleration, high-speed interfaces, connected-edge products and complete System-on-Chip use cases.

Qualcomm is seeking highly motivated Engineers (multiple levels/positions available) to join the Multimedia Verification & Integration / System Validation Engineering team responsible for validating next-generation multimedia subsystems and platforms across mobile, automotive, XR, IoT, and computing products. This role focuses on end-to-end validation of complex multimedia technologies including video, camera, imaging, computer vision, AI-enhanced multimedia processing, and related software-hardware integrations.

The candidate will work closely with architecture, design, firmware, software, systems, and product engineering teams to ensure robust functionality, performance, stability, and user experience across multimedia features from IP and subsystem levels through full SoC and product integration. The role includes both individual technical ownership and cross-functional execution on bare-metal or low-level test development, emulation and post-silicon validation, hardware platform bring-up.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans for multimedia hardware and software features across multiple product platforms.
  • Validate multimedia subsystems including camera, imaging pipelines, computer vision, and AI-enabled multimedia functions.
  • Design, develop, and automate test frameworks, validation tools, diagnostics, and regression suites.
  • Investigate functional, performance, power, reliability, and quality issues; identify root causes and drive resolution across cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze system logs, protocol captures, performance metrics, and silicon debug data.
  • Collaborate with design verification, firmware, software, system architecture, and product teams during all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Support silicon bring-up, platform integration, feature characterization, and customer issue investigations.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, debug triage meetings, and product readiness assessments.
  • Debug hardware, firmware, driver, and system-level issues using JTAG debuggers, trace tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.

Minimum Skills

  • 2+ years of industry experience in validation, verification, system integration, multimedia software, firmware, or related engineering fields.
  • Knowledge with pre-silicon or post-silicon validation, hardware bring-up, system integration, or low-level hardware/software debug.
  • Knowledge in developing and executing validation or verification test plans.
  • Programming and scripting skills in Python, C/C++, Bash/Shell
  • Familiarity with Multimedia Engines/Technology (Camera & Image Processing, Video Compression, Compute Vision)
  • Experience with automated testing and regression environments.
  • Familiarity with High-Speed interfaces & Signal Integrity
  • Hands-on experience using signal-generators, oscilloscopes, high-bandwidth probes, logic analyzers.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies, AI agents and agentic workflows that assist with engineering tasks (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar productivity assistants) and the ability to use them responsibly to improve engineering efficiency
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of defined technical assignments, and collaborate effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with in-circuit emulation tools, ARM-based System-On-Chip, validation experience related to board bring-up and low-level software and hardware issues debug, JTAG, compilers, linkers, scatter-files
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, low-level software/device drivers, Version-Control Tools, Linux, RTOS, GIT or similar source-control systems
  • Understanding of Camera ISP pipelines, CAM-sensor integration, computer vision, or AI-assisted multimedia technologies
  • Understanding of performance validation, power characterization, stress testing, latency, throughput, memory bandwidth, thermal constraints.
  • Familiarity with FPGA prototyping, hardware emulation, simulation acceleration, Verilog, SystemVerilog, hardware design concepts, RTL simulation, schematics, or digital IC architecture.
  • Familiarity with DFT/DFD, ATE/ATPG, SLT, high-volume validation, RMA debug, or production-screening concepts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
