General Summary:

Qualcomm is a leading automotive technology provider and a world leader in cockpit and telematics domains along with a rapidly growing ADAS portfolio.  As the Director for Platform Software Architecture, you will taken on a leadership role in helping to architect the next generation software defined vehicle solutions for our OEM using Snapdragon Digital Chassis technologies spanning across ADAS, Cockpit , Telematics and car to cloud infrastructure. You will also work closely with the automotive product management and engineering teams in terms of requirements and architecture elicitation for automotive software products including contributing into the next generation Snapdragon SoC and platform product definition.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ or more overall years of relevant experience in soware design, including debugging, performance analysis.

• Working knowledge of operating systems and hypervisors like Linux, QNX and other RTOSs

• System SW development experience including kernels, device drivers and BSP.

• Understanding of OS internals, storage, peripherals, and interfaces e.g., UFS/EMMC, PCIe, SPI/UART/I2C, USB, Ethernet etc.

• Understanding of secure and safe automotive SW architecture design and development involving safety subsystems and monitors, System level boot, power, performance, and latency optimizations.

• Exposure to automotive SW development processes and standards (e.g., ASPCE, ISO26262 and ISO21434).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• The idle candidate might have demonstrated ability to work with engineers/partners/customers across dierent geographies and contribute to large-scale SoC SW product development and customer support.

• Hands-on technical lead/engineer who is not hesitant to dig into the details where needed to get firsthand knowledge of the issues and play an active role in steering team success.

• Work with management team on roadmap and strategy planning

• Working with Automotive T1/OEMs and commercialization of Automotive HW/SW platforms is a plus.

Level of Responsibility:

•    Provides supervision to direct reports.  

•    Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.

•    Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.

•    Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards for functional area within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. 

•    Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is making or directly making key decisions that will have substantial impact over the organization).

•    Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$207,600.00 - $311,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
