About the Role
As a Senior DevOps and Tooling Engineer, you will play a critical role within the OSTTRA Technology team, especially in supporting the TSA separation programme. This position is the "engine room" of the company's deployment process, requiring you to oversee the core infrastructure that drives the global development lifecycle. Your primary focus will be to ensure the resilience, scalability, and automation of our version control, artifact management, and CI/CD systems. This role requires an individual with 8-10 years of experience and a strong background in AWS DevOps operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Administration: Act as the primary administrator for enterprise-grade tooling, specifically JFrog Artifactory, GitLab, and GitHub.
- CI/CD Architecture: Design, build, and optimize complex CI/CD pipelines and shared libraries to standardize deployment workflows across microservices.
- Artifact Lifecycle Management: Manage JFrog Artifactory repositories, including permission models, cleanup policies, and integration with build tools (Maven, NPM, Docker).
- Version Control Governance: Oversee GitLab/GitHub organization settings, managing access controls, security hooks, and branching strategy enforcement.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Drive the automation of tooling infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible to ensure a "self-healing" DevOps ecosystem.
- Automation & Scripting: Use Python, Go, or Bash to automate repetitive administrative tasks, such as automated user onboarding or bulk repository migrations.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security scanning within the pipeline (SAST/DAST) and manage Artifactory Xray for vulnerability and license compliance.
- Cloud Integration: Orchestrate the integration between on-premise tooling and cloud-based environments (AWS/GCP), specifically focusing on EKS/GKE deployment targets.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier-3 support for developer tooling incidents, ensuring minimal downtime for the global engineering teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in Tooling: Minimum 5 years of experience with a heavy focus on administering JFrog Artifactory (Pro/Enterprise) and GitLab/GitHub at scale.
- CI/CD Mastery: Proven experience configuring and managing CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions) and writing complex configuration files (YAML/Groovy).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience managing infrastructure on AWS or GCP, specifically using Terraform for resource provisioning.
- Container Orchestration: Solid understanding of Kubernetes/OpenShift and how CI/CD tools interact with container registries.
- Security Mindset: Experience with security tooling like JFrog Xray or SonarQube integrated into the developer workflow.
- Scripting Proficiency: Strong ability to code in Python or Go to build custom tooling and API integrations.
- Primary Skills: JFrog Artifactory, GitLab, GitHub, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Python/Go, SonarQube, JFrog Xray.
- Secondary Skills: Docker, Helm, OpenShift, YAML, Groovy, DevSecOps, API integration.
- Mandatory Skills: AWS Devops Operations.
- Excellent documentation skills (process-oriented) and a service-delivery mindset to support internal development teams.
