The Senior Data Scientist Role

As a Senior Data Scientist at Qlik, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions for our internal clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to extract insights from complex datasets, build predictive models, and contribute to the development of our data-driven products.

This role involves preparing, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets with Python and SQL, maintaining data pipelines using Databricks and Snowflake, and developing dynamic dashboards with Qlik Sense. Additionally, you will have the chance to work on end-to-end models using Qlik AutoML and showcase your analysis through impactful data visualizations. With a strong emphasis on storytelling through data and staying updated on the latest trends in data science and machine learning, this position is ideal for those looking to drive innovation and influence decision-making at Qlik.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

• Collaborating with Analytics, Data Governance and Data Engineering teams under the CIO organization to identify high-impact opportunities and leverage our data to build scalable machine learning models.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze large datasets using Python, SQL, and other relevant tools
• Create and maintain data pipelines using platforms like Databricks and Snowflake
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Qlik Sense
• Work on end-to-end models using Qlik AutoML tool
• Use data visualization skills to showcase the results of your data analysis work.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to tell a complete narrative using data.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data science and machine learning

We’re looking for a teammate with:
 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in data science or a related role
• Experience with Python, Pandas, & Scikit-Learn, SQL
• Familiarity with Qlik tools is a plus!
• General knowledge of AWS ecosystem
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, loss functions, regularization, feature selection, regression/classification, cross-validation, bagging, kernel methods, sampling, and probability distributions.
• Able to leverage Docker with Kubernetes in a continuous delivery pipeline for applications.
• Experience prototyping and developing Data Science solutions in Databricks/GitHub environment
• Understand underlying scientific experimental setup, process, and analysis to facilitate effective communication.

• Experience at a software company building models for Sales, marketing and finance
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Github)
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Experience in the business intelligence or analytics industry
