The Software Engineer (Backend) Role

The Qlik Contextual Agents team is building a plug-in framework that enables product teams within Qlik to configure and bring context-aware, agentic, and tool-enabled assistants to life within their areas of ownership within Qlik Cloud.

As a Software Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for the development, testing, release, and maintenance of shared and distributed services. You will work in a quick-paced and highly collaborative environment. The Contextual Agents team’s work includes supporting and working alongside product teams and partner organizations.

A successful candidate communicates effectively and compassionately and can present their ideas with humility and mutual respect for the opinions and thoughts of others. You are eager to learn and to share and mentor with the primary goal that the team succeeds.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

• Helping to build the next generation of our web applications and services.
• Maintaining and improving existing services.
• Working with architects, data scientists, and other developers to produce clean and sensible services for a variety of applications.
• Mentoring fellow developers to help them improve their programming practices and understanding of design patterns, architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
• Assisting the team with architectural and implementation decisions.
• Helping to address the problems and complexities that arise as products and teams grow.
• Learning quickly while utilizing new tools, languages, frameworks, patterns, etc.

We’re looking for a teammate with:

• 3+ years of experience delivering enterprise software and/or cloud SaaS software.
• 3+ years of experience in Go and/or Python.
• Experience with agent orchestration patterns and platforms; LangGraph or similar.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• A track record of successful delivery and support of software and supporting systems.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000 CAD per year. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
