The Senior Site Reliability Engineer Role

 

Join the Qlik Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and play a crucial role in ensuring the scalability, observability, and reliability of our SaaS environments.

 

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll bring your passion for software engineering best practices to scale our architecture, improve reliability, increase automation, and eliminate manual toil.

  • Automation and Tooling: Increase automation and develop tools to reduce manual intervention and eliminate toil, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Observability: Utilize metrics and traces to effectively observe systems, providing valuable data and insights for continuous improvement.
  • Proactive Issue Resolution: Automate data-driven alerts to proactively identify and escalate issues, working with development teams to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and enhance reliability.

 

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

 

  • Scalable Infrastructure: Use your expertise to scale our SaaS architecture, ensuring it can support the needs of our growing user base and evolving business requirements.
  • Reliability Improvement: Implement reliability best practices and develop SRE-managed services and tools to enhance the reliability of our systems, minimizing downtime and improving user experience.
  • Automation Enhancement: Drive automation initiatives to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention, enabling teams to focus on high-value tasks and innovation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage metrics and insights to make informed decisions, proactively addressing potential issues and continuously optimizing system performance.

 

We’re looking for a teammate with:

 

  • 10+ years of total IT experience
  • Experience with deploying and supporting a SaaS offering.
  • 3+  Years of Experience with deploying and supporting Kubernetes clusters in a public, scalable SaaS offering.
  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a DevOps environment.
  • 2+ Years Development experience (Golang / Python / bash / etc.).
  • 2+  Years Experience with each of the following:
  • Cloud Infrastructure (Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Azure / etc.)
  • Bug tracking (JIRA / Bugzilla / YouTrack / etc.)
  • Continuous Deployment (concourse / GitHub Actions / Spinnaker / etc.)
  • Source control (github / gitlab / etc.)
  • Familiar and comfortable with agile development techniques – Scrum certified preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently on projects.
  • Proactive and strong ability to learn new things with limited guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams.
  • A curious attitude that is interested in knowing why things work the way they do and using that information to improve and enhance.

 

The location for this role is:

 

Bangalore, India (Office is in JP Nagar, Bangalore - Hybrid working).
