The Junior Backend Engineer(Java) Role

Step into the world of cloud-native development as a Junior Backend Engineer (Java) and help build the next-generation cloud data governance application at Qlik. Based in Nantes or Paris, this role gives you the opportunity to work with cutting-edge backend technologies, designing and developing scalable, high-performing microservices that drive enterprise solutions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, agile team that values innovation and continuous learning.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

• Develop backend microservices that power cloud-based data governance applications.
• Participate in solution design discussions, workshops, and refinement sessions to help shape the architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, UX designers, and data engineers, to deliver best-in-class products.
• Continuously learn and grow in an agile environment while contributing to team goals.
• Ensure reliable, high-performance applications by working with MongoDB, SQL, and REST APIs.

We’re looking for a teammate with:

• 2+ years of experience in Java development.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Exposure to MongoDB, SQL databases, and Git (a plus).
• Strong communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset.
• A passion for learning, problem-solving, and working in an agile, distributed team.
