Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role

We’re looking for either Senior Analysts or Managers to join our Risk Services team in Pōneke / Wellington or Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. This role is ideal for professionals, who can combine strong technical delivery with business consulting, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise transformation leadership across modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand strategic objectives, translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, and deliver outcomes aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder engagements, communicating complex technical concepts in a business-focused and outcome-driven way.
  • Support enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives, helping organisations modernise data capabilities, improve governance, and enable scalable analytics platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership across data engineering engagements, coordinating delivery activities, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to high-quality project execution.
  • Monitor and improve data quality by designing and implementing automated validation rules, performing ongoing data profiling, and executing data cleansing routines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously refine comprehensive documentation covering data pipelines, data models, solution architecture, and end-to-end data flows to support transparency, scalability, and knowledge sharing.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data pipeline failures, integration issues, and system performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and optimal performance across data platforms.
  • Proactively evaluate and adopt emerging Azure data services, industry best practices, and modern engineering patterns to enhance platform capability, security, and efficiency.
  • Implement CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform/Bicep) for deploying and maintaining scalable data infrastructure.
  • Design and optimise data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Databricks, or equivalents such as Snowflake.
  • Ensure data governance by enforcing metadata standards, lineage tracking, and access controls.
  • Contribute to solution design, estimation, and delivery planning activities for complex enterprise data engagements.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring team members, coordinating delivery activities, and working across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience designing and optimising scalable Azure data solutions using services such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Spark, with experience in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including lakehouse, event-driven, and ETL-based patterns.
