Roles and Responsibilities.

1. Quality Control & Site Inspection

• Monitor and ensure quality standards across construction activities.
• Conduct inspections of construction works and materials as per approved drawings, specifications, Method Statements, and Quality Plans.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS Codes, ASTM, BS, and project specifications.
• Identify non-conforming materials, workmanship, and processes and report deviations promptly.
• Support NCR investigation, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve quality-related issues.

2. Material Testing & Inspection

• Collect, label, and prepare construction material samples for laboratory testing.
• Conduct routine and specialized testing of:
  • Cement
  • Aggregates
  • Concrete
  • Steel reinforcement
  • Water
  • Admixtures
  • Soil and rock samples
  • Other construction materials
• Perform physical and chemical tests in accordance with approved standards and test methods.
• Verify test results against project specifications and quality requirements.
• Carry out material inspections and ensure only approved materials are used at site.

3. Laboratory Management

• Operate laboratory testing equipment and instruments safely and efficiently.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in good working condition.
• Conduct regular calibration and verification of testing equipment.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure testing activities are performed accurately and in accordance with approved procedures.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Accurately record test observations, inspection findings, and results.
• Prepare laboratory reports, test certificates, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Maintain testing logs, calibration records, laboratory registers, and related documentation.
• Upload and maintain quality records in digital quality management systems where applicable.
• Ensure all QA/QC documentation is complete, traceable, and readily available for audits.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Follow approved SOPs, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure construction and testing activities comply with contractual and statutory quality requirements.
• Monitor quality trends and highlight recurring issues to the project team.
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement of project quality processes.
