Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Pure Storage is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to work in our Manufacturing Operation Engineering team, partnering with Pure Quality team, Supply Chain Operations, Contract Manufacturing partners, and Suppliers in driving mechanical supplier quality performance and quality issue closure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing the mechanical supplier quality metric, as well as leading the closed loop failure analysis activities. The role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance principles, metal stamping & plastic injection molding processes, manufacturing, qualification process and the parts meet the quality and performance of our products requirements. 

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to

• Partner with operation engineers, commodity managers and manufacturing partners to establish supplier quality management process and standards for Pure Storage products.
• Implement, execute and monitor mechanical supplier quality requirements such as DPPM performance/goal, review factory DPPM, SPC, scorecard, failure analysis turnaround times and other supplier quality related metrics.
• Drive suppliers for closed loop failure analysis investigation to identify root cause of part failure and provide recommendations for mitigation, corrective actions and preventive actions.
• Support Pure production and ensure for supply chain continuity (mechanical part quality issues, Supplier Product/Process Change Notification Management, Pure ECO/MCO review and disposition).
• Collaborate with mechanical suppliers to establish part quality data monitoring and reporting requirements, to ensure part quality compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
• Responsible for part qualification/First Article Inspection and audits.  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

Qualifications for this role are:

• 10+ years of experience in metal stamping/plastic injection molding industry.
•  Experience in supplier/in process quality management and quality audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in mechanical supplier quality management & qualification, root cause analysis in a fast pace high tech industry.
• Knowledge in power supply, fan module commodities is a plus.
• Proficiency in executing diverse analysis techniques and statistical analysis.
• Experiences with PLM systems (eg Agile) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of supplier quality and part quality in all aspects of work.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and present technical information clearly and concisely.

• You will be based in Penang, Malaysia. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.
