What Your Day Will Look Like

As a .NET Developer at Beyond Sports, you’ll work on the core systems that form the backbone of our sports experience products. Together with your team, you’ll help maintain and continuously improve our data pipelines — ensuring that large volumes of sports data are ingested, processed, and made available in real time.

You’ll be responsible for writing clean, efficient, and well‑documented code that is shared across multiple projects and teams. A big part of your work will focus on the evolution of our Core APIs, libraries, and internal tools, making sure they remain scalable, reliable, and easy to maintain as our platform grows.

Operating within an AWS‑based environment, you’ll apply cloud‑native principles and best practices to build systems that power our data‑driven sports visualizations. You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, project managers, and teams across Beyond Sports — aligning on technical decisions, reviewing code, and sharing knowledge to ensure that sports data flows seamlessly through the organization.

Staying up to date with modern backend technologies is part of the role. You’ll continuously improve our systems using the latest versions of .NET (10) and related tooling, helping to ensure that our sports data is always accurate, timely, and ready to be used across our products.

This role requires you to work from our Alkmaar office. You’ll need to be living in the Netherlands and eligible to work in the EU. For this role we’re looking for someone available for 40 hours per week.

Tech Stack and Skill Requirements

You don’t need to tick every box — but we’re looking for a strong backend foundation:

• BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent formal qualification

• Strong experience with .NET and modern backend development practices

• Solid understanding of core software engineering concepts such as inversion of control (IoC), parallel processing, and data structures

• Hands-on experience with streaming and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ

• Proven experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably using Terraform, and a strong test-driven development (TDD) mindset.
  

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working with Azure DevOps

• Exposure to microservices architectures, data streaming platforms, and distributed systems

• A basic understanding of football or other team sports, and an interest in how technology supports performance and engagement in this domain
