The team you’d be joining is a key part of PTC’s SaaS platform organization. We’re creating new microservices as part of PTC’s Industrial SaaS platform. We will provide the foundation for PTC’s rapid transition to SaaS-based offerings across the product portfolio, covering CAD, PLM, IoT and AR. As designers, developers, and operators of this SaaS platform, our team plays a key role in shaping the future of PTC.  Our team focuses on building platform services in support of Digital Thread use cases, using Cloud-scale technology to enable integration, digestion & analysis of IT & OT data from a spectrum of industrial data sources.

What you will be doing:

You'll brainstorm with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Architects, UX Designers, Software Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers on your team to conceptualize and design new microservices and features for our SaaS serverless Digital Thread integration platform. You’ll work as a Full Stack SaaS Developer, engaging in writing testable, high quality backend and frontend code, designing robust Gitlab CI DevOps pipelines, and deploying scalable micro services on Kubernetes. You’ll work in an Agile manner and be expected to deliver Stories at the end of each Sprint. You’ll actively own and operate our production software running on Kubernetes and look for ways to improve the stability, reliability, and elastic scale of our Node.js microservices and Nuxt and React webapps. You'll collaborate closely with the other engineers on your team and deeply review code. You’ll improve SaaS engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Day-To-Day:

• Join our daily Standups and Agile meetings.
• Work on your Stories, engaging in pair programming with team members as necessary to complete your work (these stories can span frontend, backend, and DevOps)
• Complete Code Reviews to ensure code quality
• Learn something new – there is always a better way to improve our code, process, and teamwork
• Periodically engage in PagerDuty to maintain our services with a quality SLA

Required skills:

• Typescript/Node.js Microservices
• Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• PostgreSQL or similar
• React, Nuxt/Vue, or similar framework experience

What skills can be learned on the job:

• Gitlab CI
• Azure
• Telemetry & Logging: Prometheus

PTC carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, which may include the background and experience of all applicants, which can cause your compensation to vary. PTC anticipates the salary range for this position to be between $100,000-140,000.  The actual pay may be lower or higher depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Also, every PTC employee also has the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder, both through its stock grant programs or its employee share purchase program which allows employees to purchase PTC stock at a discount.
