As a C++ Developer at Proofpoint, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions that meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C++, with a focus on modern standards (C++11 or newer), a solid understanding of networking concepts, and experience working in a Linux environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ applications using modern C++ standards (C++11 or newer). 

• Implement and optimize networking protocols and features within software applications. 

• Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other team members to develop high-quality software solutions. 

• Debug, test, and profile applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. 

• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members. 

• Work in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. 

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure continuous improvement and innovation. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

• Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles. 

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and experience with socket programming. 

• Proficiency in Linux, with experience developing and deploying applications in a Linux environment. 

• Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming. 

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). 

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with other programming languages such as Python, Java, or C. 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure). 

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker). 

• Experience with real-time systems or high-performance computing.
