Are you a Software Engineer with strong front and/or back-end development experience who wants to develop modern applications in a Fortune 50 company?

The Human Resources Information Services (HRIS) organization provides enterprise-wide people and employee related services to enable the P&G business to win! In this context, our Software Engineering Team is responsible for developing modern employee-facing applications that deliver best-in-class experiences using industry leading technologies & methodologies. We are looking for Software Engineers with passion to design, build and deliver systems or applications that solve real business problems. In this role, you will report to an IT Director.

As a Senior Engineer, you are one of the most technically knowledgeable in the team! You will likely implement the most complex features or solutions, as well as debug and analyze the most difficult bugs. You will be expected to understand any codebase / architecture faster than your junior teammates and focus on the harder problems the team faces. Mentoring and coaching to the team and the entire community of developers in the organization will also be expected, in terms of how to think and how to communicate technical matters to technical and non-technical partners.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Focus on design and solution of the most sophisticated problems faced by one or multiple teams.
  • Deliver solutions and enable others with speed and quality.
  • Influence teams with the best and most recent development techniques and practices.
  • Work on wicked problems.
  • Act as consultant to engineering teams and others.
  • Influence architecture designs and the development of technical solutions.
  • Able to write, debug, optimize code, and peer review code from teammates.
  • Craft documentation which may include program specification, technical design, code documentation, user manual etc.
  • Training and knowledge transition to other teammates.

Job Qualifications

The candidate will have or be willing to gain knowledge in the following areas: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Object-Oriented Programming in Python, Infrastructure-as-Code in Terraform, Code Management with GitHub, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Work Planning with Jira, among many other modern technologies and tools. Also soft skills including ability to work in a Global group with limited on-site teammates, strategic team design and development, creative problem solving, customer service capability (including knowing when to elevate issues or provide constructive feedback), and ability to engage in all parts of the development and operations support model.
