Procter & Gamble (P&G) is one of the world’s leading companies in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, making globally admired brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Fairy and Oral-B. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Gilette business in our Reading Plant Engineering team and lead the delivery of aerosol-based projects.

The Role:

As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on new initiatives as well as improve current line processes. Alongside project management you’ll have additional responsibilities for system ownership and involvement in IWS (Integrated Work Systems) teams offering variety and interest in the role.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee projects from feasibility to completion, ensuring adherence to project management principles and best practices (Project Management, Stewardship and Capital Management SOPs).

  • Identify and maintain project objectives, scope, and develop detailed project plans and schedules in line with the business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate project execution and ensure smooth project workflows.

  • Manage and coordinate activities with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

  • Incorporate sustainable practices and considerations into project planning and execution.

  • Utilize purchasing tools such as COUPA to purchase orders and invoices alongside cost tracking to enable budgets to be managed effectively.

Job Qualifications

What we look for:

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a passion for innovation, enjoys working collaboratively and can leverage their problem-solving skills. In this role, you will not only enhance your project management and initiative management skills, but also further develop essential soft skills including collaboration, conflict management and leadership. Preferred candidates will have experience working in a manufacturing environment or experience using IWS (Integrated Work Systems) tools. Specifically, they will have:

  • Drive to develop and implement new innovative projects.

  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Good communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and overcome project challenges.
