Job Description
Data Center/Systems Administrator
On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Data Center Systems Administrator for a contract opportunity in Hillsboro, OR.
Data Center/Systems Administrator Job Details
- To diagnose and remediate hardware issues on deployed infrastructure
- To deploy systems across a variety of hardware and operating systems
- To assist in gathering and producing telemetry data (monitoring, reporting, alerting)
- To deploy/maintain system level patches and AV
- Develop and maintain system documentation for Iab/data center configuration and customizations. Develop and maintain system documentation for server/software configuration and customizations.
- Days and Hours – will be a compressed schedule Friday, Saturday and every other Monday, 12 hours a day/night. Need to be flexible to either day hours or night hours. If a holiday falls on a work day, there will be work that day. No exceptions
- Will be working on documentation as well as oncall for helpdesk support.
Data Center/Systems Administrator Mandatory Skills
- 1-5 years hands on experience
- Self starter and highly motivated
- Ability to work weekends, flexible hours, and travel if needed
- Ability to participate in an on call rotation
- Background in supporting troubleshooting efforts on various degrees of hardware (servers/desktops/laptops)
- Windows/Linux/Mac SysAdmin skill set (RDP, SSH, read logs, etc.)
- VMware vSphere (VCP) certification
- Microsoft MCP certification on various Operation Systems
- Knowledge/use of SAN and storage technologies, NetApp preferred.
- Awareness of ITIL, AGILE, and/or DevOps best practices
- Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN (Switches, VLANs, Routers, VPNs, Firewalls, MPLS and Security) to assist Network team in troubleshooting and escalations.
