Description

Printfresh is a joyful lifestyle brand beloved for our bold, hand-painted prints and size-inclusive sleepwear and apparel. As we expand into more categories, we’re seeking to bring our whimsical, maximalist world to the spaces our customers cherish most, their homes. From bedding to tabletop, we believe in surrounding everyday rituals with beauty and comfort.

We are looking for a highly creative, detail-oriented Freelance Home Textiles & Lifestyle Product Designer to lead the evolution and expansion of Printfresh’s lifestyle categories, including select bedding, tabletop, decorative textiles, and impulse home gifting. This individual will play a pivotal role in reintroducing and reimagining our home collection in a way that authentically reflects our brand DNA while introducing a fresh, elevated perspective.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textile design, home decor, and product development, and a keen understanding of how to translate print, color, and materiality into delightful, shoppable experiences for the modern design-loving customer.

This is a temporary freelance position (1099), and hours will fluctuate depending on the season and needs. Currently, we are expecting that this position will work from 10-20 hours per week, spending 1-2 days in the Philadelphia office and the rest of the time working from home.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development

  • Concept and design tabletop products, including printed placemats, napkins, runners, and seasonal hosting items.
  • Reestablish and evolve Printfresh's bedding and decorative textile offerings, including select quilts, shams, and duvets.
  • Develop impulse giftable home items such as pouches/game (like mahjong, etc.) accessories, trays, and seasonal curiosities.
  • Create thoughtful collections that extend the Printfresh aesthetic into new areas of the home in a meaningful and exciting way.

Print & Material Direction

  • Collaborate with the print team to adapt signature patterns and motifs for home-specific applications and embellishments for the home.
  • Develop new artwork concepts that suit home product formats and materials—focusing on scale, repeat, and usability.
  • Source materials and finishes that balance comfort, durability, beauty, and responsible production.

Trend, Color & Inspiration Research

  • Stay ahead of home and lifestyle trends, including color stories, seasonal moments, and market shifts.
  • Create seasonal inspiration decks that guide product direction and storytelling across home categories.

Product Development & Merchandising

  • Partner with production, sourcing, and planning to manage the product lifecycle from concept to final delivery.
  • Ensure clear, accurate tech packs and vendor communication for all categories.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and marketing to build well-rounded collections that complement apparel and sleepwear.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the apparel and sleep design teams to maintain brand cohesion and a shared sense of storytelling.
  • Present seasonal concepts to internal teams and leadership, incorporating feedback to refine direction.
  • Help create a unified product vision across the lifestyle business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in home design, decorative textiles, or soft goods for an elevated lifestyle or fashion brand. Some experience in soft accessories is a plus (bags/pouches).
  • Deep knowledge of textile design, repeat layout, color theory, and materials suited for home applications, and embellishment/embroidery design for the home.
  • Strong sense of style and storytelling, with the ability to translate whimsical, illustrative prints into sophisticated and desirable home goods.
  • Experience working with factories and vendors on home product development, sampling, and quality control.
  • Highly collaborative with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Highly skilled Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and experience with 3D mockups or rendering tools is a plus.
  • A strategic thinker who can see both the big picture and the intricate details.
