Job Purpose (Significance of the Role & Objectives)

The CNC Programmer plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by translating engineering drawings and specifications into machine instructions to produce precision components. This role requires expertise in computer programming, machining principles, and the operation of CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Develop CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models, and specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates for machining operations based on material type, part geometry, and machine capabilities.
• Use simulation software to validate CNC programs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in machining processes.
• Continuously optimize CNC programs and machining parameters to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Identify and resolve programming errors, machine malfunctions, and tooling issues to maintain smooth production flow and meet quality standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including setup sheets, tool lists, and program revisions, to facilitate repeatability and traceability.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to review part designs, discuss manufacturing feasibility, and address any issues that arise during production.
• Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure finished parts meet dimensional tolerances, surface finish requirements, and other quality specifications.

Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience: 3- 5 Years.
• Proven experience as a CNC programmer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) and G-code programming
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling concepts, and CNC machine operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices (desired).
• Experience with multi-axis machining and complex part geometries (desired).
