Salary:
Student roles are compensated on a structured pay schedule based on cumulative co-op and relevant work experience:
- 1 semester of experience: $44,000/year
- 2 semesters of experience: $46,000/year
- 3 semesters of experience: $48,000/year
- 4 semesters of experience: $50,000/year
Salaries listed are annualized rates and will be pro-rated for the 8-month co-op term. Your starting salary will be determined during the hiring process based on the experience you bring to the role.
Powerex Corp., the wholly owned energy marketing subsidiary of BC Hydro, currently has an 8-month co-op position for a Developer Analyst to join our IT team with a focus on project and application delivery. There is a possibility of this co-op position extending based on performance and team-fit.

You will contribute to the full lifecycle of IT projects from understanding business needs and documenting requirements through to designing, coding, testing, and deploying solutions. Responsibilities:

Participate in the design, development, testing, and sustainment of new and existing applications to address business and IT needs.

Collect, analyze, document, and manage business requirements through collaboration with end-users and business stakeholders.

Develop an understanding of business processes to identify requirements and develop well-aligned solutions.

Perform quality assurance activities including test planning, writing test scenarios and scripts, and manual testing.

Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and supporting application deployments.

Help coordinate development work and interface with business users on requirements.

Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Application Support teams to identify areas of operational improvement, including building dashboards in Tableau and mining logs in Datadog.

Develop and document application design specifications.

Provide support on small to medium sized projects involving both business and IT resources.
