Role Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Data and Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer to help build the most powerful and comprehensive cost optimization engine by leveraging cloud infrastructure expertise and advanced data modeling. You’ll harness the power of our extensive cloud data to deliver impactful insights across various use cases.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain data models that accurately represent cloud environments and financial operations.
• Develop and implement data transformation processes to ensure data is clean, accurate, and analysis-ready, using SQL and dbt.
• Perform in-depth analysis of cloud spending patterns, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other team members to maintain data consistency and reliability across the platform.
• Support new product features by delivering relevant data insights and analytics.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of cost optimization tools and solutions within the platform.

What You’ll Bring

• Key Skills: Big Data Modeling, Cloud Technologies, and Dashboarding.
• Advanced skills in data modeling and big data analytics (proficiency in SQL & dbt).
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with BI/analytics platforms, including building insightful, customer-facing dashboards.

Bonus Points

• Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Background in data engineering with experience in building ELT data flows.
