About the Team
The Engineering Program Management is responsible for the management of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process, ensuring timely execution and readiness of software deployments. Engineering Program Managers work closely and collaboratively with Engineering Directors,
Development Managers, Engineers, Product Management, DevOps and SaaSOps. The team is responsible for managing the completion of engineering plans/commitments, feature enhancements vs. automation/technical improvements, and SDLC changes driven by industry best practices.
About the Role:
Reporting to Manager, Engineering Program Management, the Engineering Program Manager (EPM) will be responsible for supporting Engineering teams for multiple LOB’s.
You will work closely with the Engineering Directors and Managers and other key stakeholders to facilitate and lead the definition of ‘ready’ prior to the start of a development cycle, then drive teams to achieve ‘code complete’ and reach the definition of ‘done’ according to the plan. You will act as an objective voice communicating sprint execution status to various levels of leadership.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented software project/program manager with a track record of delivering best-in-class products. You will have a high degree of curiosity. The ideal candidate also understands complex technical scenarios/requirements, as well as effectively manage and overcome obstacles to progress and/or suggest alternative strategies/directions. The successful candidate should be an outstanding manager of a cross-functional project/program team, capable of leading and supporting multiple program/project execution tasks with a "hands on" style that employs a high degree of personal interaction with the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure effective management and execution of the SDLC process, as well as the completion of technical and business dependencies.
Responsible for enabling cross-functional collaboration for project, or release deliverables, between Product, Engineering and SaaSOps.
Deliver clear, concise, and frequent communication of the status of project/sprint execution and compliance with the target business objectives, to the project and business teams, as well as senior management.
Work independently on large-sized projects or releases with high degrees of complexity and multiple dependencies
Facilitate and lead agile development practices, scrum of scrums.
Escalate concerns to the team members, stakeholders and senior management when appropriate.
Continuously improving software development planning and delivery processes. Perform regular plan retrospectives and take actions.
Perform with a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and other project managers.
Formulate/ report on the organizational KPI’s to track efficiency, predictability, and quality metrics throughout the software delivery cycle.
Extract useful metrics from agile tools that teams can use in their own continuous improvement processes
Your Key Strengths:
A minimum of 3 years of project or release management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in software development, lifecycle or technology management in a scrum or agile environment.
Proven record managing software development projects with multiple interdependencies or as a release manager in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment, including Mobile and Cloud deployments.
Possesses extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle processes, release management, and knowledge of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Exceptional time management and prioritization skills, with great attention to detail
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Self-directed and self-motivated, with a high level of organizational skills for facilitating project team interactions, accurate/ efficient project data organization, investigating process gaps and driving solutions.
Effective interpersonal skills for working with various stakeholders. Strong influence and teamwork skills. Ability to build, direct and influence teams
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to manage conflict and drive decisions
Being assertive, understanding when assertiveness is required
