As a Software Engineering Manager within PNC’s ACFR organization, the preferred candidate will reside and work in one of our Technology hub locations: Birmingham, AL; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office with the opportunity for remote work at the manager’s discretion.Job Summary:
The Software Enigneering Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing sanction screening solutions within the Accuity suite, including FircoSoft applications and Continuity/Trust platforms. This role ensures seamless operation of the screening systems, compliance with global regulatory requirements, and effective case management for alerts. Strong leadership in people management, resource management, and technical expertise in SQL, UNIX scripting, FircoSoft, and cloud-native technologies are required to drive operational excellence and foster collaboration across compliance, IT, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities:
System Configuration and Maintenance:
• Configure, maintain, and optimize sanction screening applications within the Accuity suite, including FircoSoft and Continuity/Trust platforms.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and health checks to maintain high availability and performance.
• Fine-tune system parameters and filters to improve alert quality, minimize false positives, and ensure optimal detection.
Alert Case Management:
• Oversee the case management process for sanction screening alerts, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
• Collaborate with compliance analysts to investigate and escalate potential true matches.
• Monitor alert workflows, optimize processes, and develop strategies to enhance alert-handling efficiency.
• Provide advanced technical support for escalated or high-priority cases.
List Management:
• Manage the ingestion, updating, and validation of global sanctions and custom watchlists (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU, HMT).
People Management:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical specialists responsible for sanction screening applications.
• Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching to team members.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, resolve conflicts, and address team concerns.
• Identify skill gaps within the team and implement training programs to enhance knowledge and technical expertise.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent to build a high-performing technical team.
Resource Management:
• Allocate resources effectively to meet operational and project demands.
• Monitor workloads, adjust priorities, and ensure efficient utilization of team members.
• Develop schedules for system maintenance, upgrades, and audits to minimize disruption.
• Proactively identify resource needs and communicate requirements to leadership.
System Integration and Data Flow:
• Oversee the integration of Accuity solutions (FircoSoft and Continuity/Trust) with core banking systems, payment platforms, and transaction monitoring tools.
• Ensure secure and seamless data flow between systems while troubleshooting integration issues.
• Work closely with IT teams to implement and maintain interfaces and APIs.
Compliance and Regulatory Alignment:
• Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure system configurations meet global regulatory requirements.
• Implement updates to reflect changes in sanctions regulations and ensure timely compliance.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews with detailed technical documentation and performance reports.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
• Analyze system performance and alert trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Optimize alert-handling processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead initiatives to implement new features, workflows, or tools that enhance productivity.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Vendor Management:
• Act as the technical point of contact for compliance, IT, and other internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with LexisNexis Risk Solutions (Accuity) and other vendors to address system issues and implement enhancements.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on system performance, list accuracy, and alert management improvements.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, workflows, and processes.
• Generate reports on system performance, alert volumes, team productivity, and list management activities.
• Present actionable insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in sanction screening systems, compliance IT, or financial crime prevention.
• Expertise in the Accuity suite of solutions, including FircoSoft applications and Continuity/Trust platforms.
• Strong technical skills in SQL, UNIX scripting, and cloud-native technologies
• Proven experience in people management, team leadership, and resource planning.
• Strong understanding of case management workflows and alert-handling processes.
• Knowledge of global sanction frameworks (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU, UK sanctions).
Key Skills:
• Expertise in FircoSoft and other sanction screening tools.
• Proficiency in SQL for database queries and data analysis.
• UNIX/Linux scripting for system automation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies for scalable system implementations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder collaboration.
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with financial crime prevention tools (e.g., transaction monitoring, KYC systems).
• Certifications in AML/financial crime compliance (e.g., CAMS, CGSS).
• Experience in cloud-based implementations and data integration.
Work Environment:
• Hybrid work model with options for remote and on-site work, depending on organizational needs.
• Occasional travel for training, vendor collaboration, or regulatory audits.
