Plume is seeding a new team to build and launch a family of data oriented cloud services. We are looking for bright and ambitious Senior Software Engineers to embark on this new journey with us. You will work closely with product managers to bring new ideas from concept to market. You will build highly available distributed services that interact with data at petabyte scale. This is a high impact role with immense growth opportunities and will truly put your software engineering skills to the test.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in all stages of the software design lifecycle working in multi-disciplinary teams spanning cloud, embedded, front-end web/mobile, and product
- Write clean, maintainable code, and perform peer code-reviews
- Solve challenging scale, big data, and architectural problems
- Build, deploy and operate applications in a Kubernetes ecosystem
- Perform rotating on-call duties as part of production support
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of developing and operating highly available, large-scale distributed systems
- Ability to balance short term engineering tradeoffs with long-term investments
- Ability to communicate ideas, designs, and proposals effectively
- Ability to see the big picture and build out concise, comprehensive, yet realistic project plans
Bous but not required:
- Working experience TypeScript/JavaScript
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem, from infrastructure creation to service deployment (CDK or CFN)
- Familiarity with NoSQL
- Familiarity with Java and/or Scala is a plus
