Playtech‘s POP (Playtech Open Platform) unit is looking for a proactive Java Developer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems rather than simply building CRUD applications. Our team develops high-performance distributed backend systems and is modernizing its platform by redesigning existing services and building new ones using modern Java & frameworks. We continuously improve architecture, performance, scalability, and maintainability to build faster, more reliable, and easier-to-maintain systems.

• Modernize existing systems while developing new services.
• Solve technical challenges related to performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write clean, well-tested, and high-quality code.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.

Qualifications

Components for success. You have...

• Solid knowledge of modern Java (Java 21/25 preferred) including multithreading, and concurrency.
• Good problem-solving skills and knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• General understanding of distributed systems and backend application design.
• General understanding of database concepts and experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Commitment to writing high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested software.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, Git, Docker.

Playtech Open Platform provides a unified network and API for communication with the Playtech infrastructure, enabling client-side implementation by independent developers. It is an adapter between systems, and it can deliver a more accessible and seamless integration between gaming provider services and operator systems.
