Role Overview:
As a Senior Infrastructure Architect, you will provide technical leadership and set architectural standards, ensuring scalable, high-performance, and secure IT infrastructure solutions. You'll align technology strategy with business goals, support project execution, and evaluate emerging technologies. Key responsibilities include optimizing infrastructure, ensuring compliance, fostering innovation, and driving proof of concepts to validate architectural decisions and enhance delivery outcomes.

What you will do:

• Architectural Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and delivery teams. Establish and maintain architectural standards and frameworks. Conduct architecture reviews and audits to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
• Solution Design and Integration: Develop and maintain the overall IT infrastructure architecture, including network, server, storage, and security components. Design scalable, high-performance, and reliable solutions. Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of new and existing systems. Create and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams.
• Project Management Support: Collaborate with project managers to align architectural work with project timelines and objectives. Provide technical input and support for project planning and execution.
• Technology Strategy and Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to determine their fit for the organization's needs. Make recommendations for technology adoption and implementation.
• Capacity Planning and Optimisation: Analyse current infrastructure utilization and forecast future needs. Identify opportunities to optimize infrastructure performance and reduce costs. Implement capacity planning strategies to ensure system scalability and reliability.
• Business Cases: Engage with stakeholders to baseline requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide insights and recommendations for cost-effective solutions, understanding full cost modelling.
• Performance, Security, and Compliance: Identify performance bottlenecks and design solutions to improve system performance. Ensure that architectural designs meet security and compliance requirements. Collaborate with security team to implement security best practices.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design solutions with disaster recovery and business continuity in mind. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate architectural decisions and strategies to stakeholders at all levels. Facilitate discussions and workshops to gather requirements and feedback.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Encourage experimentation and the adoption of modern technologies and methodologies.
• Quality and Resilience: Define, measure, and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as performance, scalability, availability, and security to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
• Delivery Focus: Being hands-on with delivery by driving Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate emerging technologies and validate architectural decisions to provide technical leadership and ensuring alignment with architectural standards and project goals.

Who you are:

• Formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 5 years of experience in an architecture role
• Proven record of accomplishment of designing and implementing complex projects from an infrastructure perspective, including but not limited to networking, storage, compute, OS levels.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Solid understanding of networking principles and best practices.
• Experience in Data centre migrations and transformation.
• Proficiency with common development tools and platforms.
• Excellent understanding of automation processes and tools.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certifications in relevant technologies and methodologies.
• Strong business acumen and experience of financial management (CAPEX / OPEX)
• Infrastructure automation best practices.
• Experience in agile and DevOps environments.
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
• Good knowledge of at least one major public could platform (AWS, Azure or GCP )
