Role Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of an end-to-end publishing pipeline for Computer Vision applications, called “filters”, tailored to both first and third-party developers. This role, which offers a high level of autonomy, will be pivotal in building and maintaining the platform that allows models and filters to be securely and efficiently deployed to customer edge environments. You will own the development of the SDK, publishing pipeline, update and deployment processes, runtime, and the necessary tooling to enable developers to ship with high quality. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our solution is scalable, secure, and aligned with customer and partner needs.

Responsibilities:

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing a robust SDK for developers to build and publish models and filters.
• Building and maintaining a deployment pipeline that ensures seamless and secure distribution of filters to customer and partner environments.
• Managing the update and rollback mechanisms to ensure reliable, non-disruptive updates to Computer Vision applications.
• Developing and enabling the efficient operation of runtime environments on the customer edge that can securely execute filters and manage updates without disruption.
• Implementing validation and quality assurance tooling to ensure model integrity before deployment.
• Collaborating closely with data pipeline and cloud operations teams.
• Driving key architectural and process improvements across the engineering organization.
• Implement best practices for deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring.
• Debug and optimize performance bottlenecks in both frontend and backend services.

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years in software engineering, with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and security.
• Proficient in one or more of languages like C/C++/C#/Go/Java.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and automated testing frameworks.
• Proven experience designing and developing SDKs and APIs for third-party developers.
• Experience in building secure systems, particularly around artifact management, deployment, and customer ecosystem availability.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory, Docker Hub).
• Experience working with edge deployment environments, including the unique challenges of working in decentralized, resource-constrained systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, as well as knowledge of deployment strategies (e.g., canary, blue-green).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with machine learning models, particularly in deployment and operationalization contexts.
• Experience integrating with third-party tools and services, particularly in AI/ML ecosystems (e.g., JFrog Artifactory, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Previous experience working directly with customers or partners to understand their deployment needs and deliver solutions.
• Expertise in designing systems that can scale efficiently to handle large volumes of data and deployments across distributed environments while maintaining 99.999% availability.
• Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams, providing guidance on best practices, and contributing to technical strategy.
