Data Steward

Location: Cairo, Cairo, Egypt

• Audit current storage structures, naming conventions, and cataloguing practices within the DA department.
• Design and implement rules and procedures for data storage, retention, archiving, and deletion.
• Develop and maintain a centralized data catalogue with full traceability of active and archived projects.
• Control the data transfer process from field teams: validate file structure, completeness, and readiness for analysis.
• Organize the final project handoff, ensuring all reports, raw data, and metadata are finalized and archived.
• Work closely with IT and DA to ensure infrastructure supports reliable and secure storage.
• Train and support DA staff on proper data storage and cataloguing practices.
• Perform ongoing checks for duplicate, missing, or improperly stored data.
• Lead routine housekeeping and data lifecycle enforcement.
• Document and update all data-related standards and procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in technical data management, archiving, or infrastructure support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, file management systems, and documentation tools.
• Familiarity with project-based file storage and metadata tracking.
• Understanding of field-to-office data transfer workflows in technical environments.
• Comfortable navigating large network or cloud-based file repositories.
• Able to produce templates, reference manuals, and data inventory logs.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
• Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
• Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
• Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
