SRE - System Delivery is a cross-functional, centralized, horizontal team that works
with other SRE teams of PhonePe to build various Infrastructure Services, carry out
routine production management activities like Infrastructure Scaling, Database
Maintenance & Operating System Vulnerability rollouts etc.

Job Overview:
As a SRESD L1 Engineer, you would be part of a team that is responsible for building,
managing & scaling up the Production Systems of PhonePe to provide uninterrupted
services to its users across the country. You would be expected to work on well
defined tasks, under supervision and by following predefined SOPs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
● Build various Distributed Systems like Galera, RMQ, Aerospike, nGinx etc.
● Deploy Operating System Vulnerability fixes to Production Systems
● Perform routine Database maintenance activities
● Build & Roll out Proxy Configuration to Production Systems
● Understand the criticality of Production Infrastructure
● Be willing to work in night shifts and Oncall
● Automate various Operational Tasks based on need

Qualifications and Skills:
● Minimum of 1-3 years of hands on experience in Linux / Unix System
Administration
● Understanding of Database Systems, CDN / Proxy, Virtualization / Hypervisors,
fundamentals of Networking (DHCP / PXE / Routing / Gateway etc).
● Knowledge of automation / configuration management using either saltstack or
equivalent
● Knowledge of private and public cloud environments
● Good communications skills
Knowledge of the following will be a plus:
● Implementation of cloud services on linux using kvm/qemu
● MySQL / Mariadb / PostgreSQL
● Aerospike
● ElasticSearch
Work Location: Bangalore
Note: This role requires the candidate to be available for on-call shifts on a rotational
basis, covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
