Job Role: The Senior Manager is a crucial leader, responsible for optimizing and improving the product development processes, ensuring smooth team coordination, and driving operational excellence. This role requires decision making, strategic thinking, expertise in product operations, strong project management skills, process documentation and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will boost productivity, streamline processes, manage SOPs and support the company & product goals.
The candidate will liaison with the Tech support and QA teams, and will be a guardian for the technical and manual app review and testing processes. The ideal candidate should have worked on QA, merchant onboarding, compliance, day-to-days of a device farm and/or automation testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve product operations efficiency and effectiveness.
Align product operations strategies with company goals and ensure consistent execution across teams.
Develop a comprehensive onboarding process for partners and merchants (developers) that aligns with legal and compliance standards
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide leadership and develop, mentor a team of product operations professionals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Develop vision and goals for the team and execution plans for achieving those.
Document and develop training plans along with SOPs for skill development and auditing processes.
Process Improvement:
Identify, design, and implement processes for improvements to streamline product development, operations scale and delivery.
Utilize methods and best practices to eliminate redundancy and inefficiencies to improve Quality & enhance productivity.
Develop, Monitor and improve on the effectiveness of process changes and continuously realign the product operations functioning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as a key liaison between product management, legal, compliance, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support.
Stakeholder management and effective communication and collaboration to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and workshops to drive consensus and resolve issues as representative of the Product Operations function.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of product performance data.
Work with analytics to develop dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to make decision making for Product Operations function.
Make data based actionable and priority chart for product teams.
Project Management:
Understand the scope of work and develop execution plans for expected goals.
Lead and manage complex product operations projects from conception to completion.
Communicate project plans along with delivery timelines, scope, and quality standards.
Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and manage timelines.
Documentation and Training:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for product operations processes, SOPs and best practices.
Develop and deliver training programs to ensure team members and stakeholders are proficient in processes and tools.
Promote knowledge sharing and standardization across the organization.
Tool and System Optimization:
Evaluate, implement, and manage tools and systems that enhance product operations.
Ensure the effective use of tools and continuously seek opportunities to improve tool functionality.
Stay abreast of new technologies and tools that could benefit product operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Master’s degree preferred:
10+ years of experience in product operations, product management, or a related role, with at least 4 years in a senior position leading the function.
Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong project management skills with expertise in project management methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with data analysis and tools to manage data (e.g., Excel).
Experience with project and product lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Zoho) is a plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage priorities.
