Intern– Hardware Test Engineer Verification Support – Andover, MA – Summer 2024

Your role: 

The Philips HPM Hardware Test Engineering is seeking an undergraduate student for a summer internship in our Verification Support function. Engineering student preferred, with knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering a plus.

The individual will support the Verification Support engineering team in a variety of day-to-day verification support tasks, projects, and improvements. In so doing, the individual will gain an understanding of the many aspects of hardware test engineering tools and fixtures design, development, and fabrication in a regulated medical device development environment.

• Assist in the design, development, and fabrication of the test engineering test tools/fixtures.
• Assist in the test tool’s automation using LabVIEW and TestStand
• Assist in the test tool’s hardware design using PCB Schematic & Layout CAD tools
• Expand into other software projects beyond Lab-View, specifically relative to writing code (Python, VBA, SQL, etc.), and developing test station hardware (preferred);
• Assist in the test tool’s mechanical design using SolidWorks
• Interact with Philips’s engineering team members and external vendors
• Review test tools design for Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Review test tools design, test plans and test reports for compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Maintain a summary of accomplishments made during the internship period.
• Present a summary of accomplishments to the entire HW Test Engineering team at the end of the period.

• Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering, physical science, computer science, quality – related discipline from an accredited college/university.
• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.4/4.0 or higher
• Detail- and task-oriented, inquisitive, do-it-right attitude

The hourly pay range for this position is $29.00 to $45.00, plus overtime eligible.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
