What You Will Achieve
Working with Pfizer’s dynamic Automation Engineering and Instrumentation team, you will play a critical role in the stability of the Site manufacturing automated equipment, information network systems, and computer system validation efforts to improve manufacturing success rates ensuring zero down time and compliance to external regulation.
As a Sr. Automation Engineer, your knowledge and skills will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the team. Your focus and ability to meet team targets will help in completing critical deliverables. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will facilitate in explaining difficult issues and establishing consensus between teams. It is your hard work and dedication that will make Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement automation solutions to improve manufacturing success rates and ensure zero downtime.
Design, implement, and maintain automated systems and equipment to support organizational operations.
Participate the daily operations of the automation team, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and specifications.
Collaborate with IT, Instrumentation, and operational teams to integrate and deploy new technologies.
Provide technical guidance and training to new/jr. level team members and other staff within the department.
Engage in vendor relationships and support contract negotiations for external support and equipment.
Coordinate assigned maintenance activities for automation systems, including downtimes and shutdown events.
Maintain accurate records of all automation activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the automation environment, facilitating analysis of the latest technologies for equipment and systems.
Analyze and trend downtime issues within the area of responsibility.
Schedule and lead cross-functional meetings to discuss projects and initiatives.
Coordinate the design, ordering, and installation of machine modifications, including work performed by OEM suppliers, alliance partners, service, and construction contractors.
Champion a culture of safety and safety awareness within the automation department.
Ensure all global and site engineering policies and procedures are adhered to.
Act as the automation SME during regulatory agency audits.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a master's degree with more than 0+ of experience; OR an associate's degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage complex/large engineering projects.
- Hands-on experience with engineering design and validation
- Structured query language knowledge
- Demonstrated organizational skills and can meet project task deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Relevant pharmaceutical experience
- Training in 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP, ISPE, and Annex 11
- Kneat experience
- OSI Pi expertise
- Understanding of programming, and proficiency in at least one language
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

- Acute mental and visual attention at all times
- Handle multiple projects while managing frequent interruptions
- Requires moderate lifting or moving up to 25 pounds (lbs)
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Requires regular onsite attendance
- Must have the ability to work effectively under strict deadlines
- Must be able and willing to work beyond office hours which may include weekends and holidays
- Must be capable of supporting up to 10% travel (domestic and international)
Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80 300,00 to $133 900,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10,0% of the base salary.
