ROLE SUMMARY
The main responsibilities for EAS (Enterprise Automation Services) Business Analyst include transforming manual business processes into automation projects, partnering with stakeholders for process consultations, business requirements analysis, preliminary solution design, and facilitating budgetary estimation of development costs. Upon funding approval for a project, the role involves transitioning projects to the delivery team and translating the business requirements into technical terms. In addition, this role will help drum up demand for automation through developing and posting internal marketing and communication messages and videos.
The Business Analyst will work in partnership with Business Partners to deliver key Business Technology solutions. The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding, and communicating requirements to ensure technology solutions and strategic initiatives meet the needs of their intended audiences.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will direct colleague and contract BAs to:
- Establish relationships with business partners and project teams and liaise between the business and technical delivery team. Ensure that the delivery team understands business needs and vice versa
- Lead and execute multiple digital automation projects across complex geographies driving business and patient impact
- Utilize specific techniques to elicit requirements from stakeholders, conduct process analysis, organize all process related documents, and validate the resulting requirements. Communicate across stakeholders to secure agreement on the requirements
- Build, validate and update diagrams, models, and other artifacts to describe business processes, conceptual information models, organizational structure, business area context, and/or system requirements
- Establish the requirements baseline and trace requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage change in requirements over the project lifecycle
- Provide input on design to ensure that the design meets the requirements
- Plan and communicate the requirements management approach and change management plan to be used for the project. Provide input to the project work breakdown structure and the overall project plan
- Identify areas of risk due to requirements and surface to the project manager
- Partner with the project manager to assess the impact of changes in requirements on the project scope and timelines
- Oversee vendor contracted resources and/or provide coaching to more junior BAs
- In partnership with Demand Lead, this role will contribute to pre-project business case development & strategic planning
- Act as an advocate for customers while simultaneously identifying areas like business processes that need to be changed within the business to ensure project success
- Review UX solutions and provide feedback on design and functionality
- Develop and implement all marketing and communication plans and content for the automation team. Including, internal social posts, promotional videos, go-live messages, and email blasts
- In partnership with other Senior BAs and BA Sponsor will set direction for BA Discipline
- Advance emerging trends and techniques within the BA discipline
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a scientific discipline or computer science
- 5-7 years’ experience in project level business analysis using standard requirements business analysis techniques including brainstorming, interviewing, requirements sessions, activity diagrams, process modeling, conceptual data modeling, use case and wireframes desired
- 3-5 years’ experience in program level business analysis leadership
- Familiarity with systems life cycles and organizational change management desired
- Relevant experience in Information Technology in the context of the pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Experience with developing communication plans and marketing materials
- Facilitation, consensus building, organization and written communication skills
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations
- Demonstrated skills in analysis and problem solving
- Coaching, mentoring and managing junior resources
- Ability to work independently on many projects with a focus on taking initiative and solve problems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to indirectly influence key partners and stakeholders
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight schedules
- Excellent, proactive problem solver, strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex requirements and define technical/functional advanced solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in both written & verbal English (and have worked in a global/multicultural environment). Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders as part of the RPA delivery cycle
- Knowledge of design thinking methodologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of automation technologies
- Certification of design thinking methodologies
- Awareness of internal and external technology trends
- Knowledge and experience in the Clinical Domain of Health Sciences; hands-on experience working with Clinical Data
- Experience in the Artificial Intelligence continuum: Knowledge of Machine Learning/AI in real-world settings with large scale data
