ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer’s U.S. migraine portfolio consists of two, complimentary, treatments – NURTEC ODT and Zavzpret. NURTEC ODT is the first and only FDA approved oral CGRP receptor antagonist that treats both acute and preventive migraine. NURTEC ODT has the opportunity to change the paradigm in migraine treatment and potentially establish a new standard of care. Zavzpret is the first and only FDA approved, CGRP receptor antagonist nasal spray, which is designed to provide patients fast relief from a migraine attack with just one spray.

Over 40 million patients in the U.S. currently suffer from migraine but less than 25% seek care. About 1.2 million migraine patients visit the ER per year and almost 80% of them never sought care from a community HCP before going to the ED. Migraine creates a significant economic burden to the U.S. healthcare system, costing over $78B annually. The migraine franchise is a key growth driver for the Primary Care business unit and for Pfizer.

Operational Enablement Lead will report directly to the US Migraine Lead and is responsible for leading insights generation, commercial operations, innovative strategy development and implementation to maximize the impact of our Marketing and Sales and Account Management organizations in the U.S. The individual should have a combination of strategic thinking, analytical ability, Pfizer platforms & system understanding, experience collaborating with our customer facing organizations (e.g., sales, account management, etc.) to help the US Migraine team achieve its commercial goals. This role will offer the unique opportunity to display strong business acumen, cross-functional leadership, executive presence, and presentation with senior leadership given high-profile nature of this franchise.

This role requires agility and flexibility to drive change and learn and adapt strategies and tactical execution quickly given how competitive the marketplace is.

Operational and Strategic Lead for Key Initiatives:

  • Be a strategic partner for the US Migraine Lead, Sales and KAM leadership and field personnel; understand the market in terms of competitive landscape and “real-world” challenges and opportunities that influence performance and execution.
  • Partner with the Customer Engagement Platform team to pull through targeting and track execution with the Migraine, CV, Hospital and CSO Field Forces  
  • Lead the migraine US Competitive Intelligence program and use this information weekly to guide strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities. 
  • Partner with US Migraine Lead, Migraine Leadership Team, and cross-functional partners to identify new strategic opportunities for growth and develop action plans for execution.
  • Project manage key initiatives (e.g., Quarterly Earnings, Investor presentations, US Commercial Operating Plan, Brand Acceleration Teams, commercial team, and cross-functional coordination of key milestones, etc.)
  • Lead execution & measurement of Commercial Model Pilots, working collaboratively with the CMO and cross-functional partners.
  • Laisse with Primary Care Leadership Team and platform functions on various strategic and operational projects
  • Effectively communicate the US Migraine strategies and ongoing activities through leadership reporting and business reviews; represent ongoing work across the business on behalf of the Leadership Team
  • Be the catalyst to drive a cohesive and strong culture for the US Migraine team, leading culture initiatives, team meetings, and opportunities for teambuilding and skill development.

Provide Analytics/Decision Support:

  • Partner with Finance and US Migraine Lead on quarterly financial forecast updates, LEs, buy up requests, financial reporting.
  • Lead and coordinate customized analytics and decision support for Commercial Team
  • Working with Commercial Analytics, identify key metrics and support the development and reporting to measure performance and track against established PLI goals throughout the year.
  • Ensure a consistent approach and streamlined process for analytics with other cross-functional partners.

Deliver Innovation & Growth Strategies:

  • Leverage data/learnings to inform strategic adjustments to accelerate business outcomes.
  • Foster an innovative and Agile approach to problem solving.
  • Ensure effective collaboration & sharing of best practices with partners across the enterprise

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience, or Master's and 9+ years of experience, or PhD/PharmD and 7+ years of experience 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with proven initiative, strategic thinking, and creativity
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Experience successfully converting market and stakeholder insights into actionable strategies and tactics.
  • Demonstrated track record in working with and influencing people and multidisciplinary teams in a complex and fluid environment.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication, listening skills, influence / negotiation prowess and relationship management capabilities with proven ability working in matrix organization.
  • Strong prioritization skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and managing major strategic challenges; can manage through ambiguity.
  • Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo, act decisively and operate successfully in an empowered organization.
  • A commitment to excellence – both in the results achieved and in how they are achieved.
  • Candidate has a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, oversee, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of US marketing experience
  • Experience in consulting, Sales, Marketing, Operations, or analytical roles

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
