This position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL queries and business intelligence solutions that support the organization's analytics strategy. The candidate will work closely with the analytics team to understand reporting requirements, translating those into technical specifications and developing high-performance SQL queries, tables, views, and processes. This role involves maintaining and supporting data analytics environment as well as supporting data quality assurance efforts in business-critical data pipelines. The position reports to the Director of Application Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze data from various sources, including the data warehouse and data lake.
• Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into BI solutions that meet organizational needs.
• Implement data modeling techniques to support efficient query performance and data retrieval.
• Perform data cleansing, transformation, and validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of reporting data.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or other relevant technologies to move data between systems or layers within the data lake.
• Design and implement database queries, stored procedures, and views for reporting and analytical purposes.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for production reports, dashboards, and databases, including troubleshooting issues and optimizing performance.
• Document database schemas, BI solution designs, and ETL workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of SQL queries to ensure high performance and efficiency.

COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in writing SQL queries for reporting, analysis, and BI solutions.
• Strong experience with Power BI
• Knowledge of database design, SQL Server, and data modeling techniques.
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and tools, such as SSIS or Azure Fabric Notebooks.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills for SQL and Fabric.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with business teams and technical staff.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of experience in SQL development and BI reporting, including developing and optimizing SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

PLUSES:

• Experience with Excel Power Pivot and Power Query for data manipulation and reporting.
• Knowledge of other Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, SharePoint).
• Experience with BI and data warehousing solutions, including SQL Server (2+ years).
• Familiarity with cloud-based BI and data solutions, including Azure and cloud data warehouses.
• Knowledge of BlueCherry, KWI, Salesforce Commerce Cloud
