Responsibilities

The Technical Project Manager provides analytical and operational support to the Operations Lead in the coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of program workstreams. Responsible for analyzing operational data, tracking performance metrics, and supporting the development of processes and communications that enable efficient program execution. Works closely with the Operations Lead and cross-functional program teams to identify operational gaps, synthesize findings, and recommend solutions that advance program objectives.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

• Support the Operations Lead in monitoring and managing day-to-day project operations across multiple workstreams and functional areas
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize operational data to produce reports, dashboards, and briefings for program leadership and stakeholders
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), deliverable status, milestones, risks, and issues across program teams
• Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase organizational efficiency and productivity
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational guides, and process documentation
• Coordinate and facilitate recurring program meetings, including agenda preparation, material distribution, note-taking, and action item tracking
• Support the development of program communications, including talking points, internal updates, presentations, and leadership briefings
• Assist in onboarding activities, including documentation, coordination with HR, and orientation support for new program staff
• Manage and maintain accurate program records, trackers, and operational files in both hard copy and electronic formats
• Serve as a point of contact for operational inquiries, triaging requests and routing issues to appropriate program leads or the Operations Lead
• Support strategic planning activities by conducting research, compiling background materials, and preparing analytical products
• Identify and communicate operational risks or process gaps to the Operations Lead with recommended courses of action
• Coordinate with subcontractors, functional leads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on operational priorities and deliverable timelines
• Assist the Operations Lead in connecting teams working on similar initiatives and facilitating cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

 

• 6 years of progressive experience within Program/Project management or operations support roles. Up to half of this requirement (up to 3 years) may include military service in operational or staff leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience tracking program performance metrics, producing analytical reports, and briefing findings to leadership
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams)
• Able to pass a background check to obtain a VA Public Trust clearance
• US Citizenship

 

PREFERRED:

 

 

• Experience supporting federal contracts, with an emphasis on Veterans Administration (VA) programs
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's degree in a relevant field may count for 2 years of experience.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
• Relevant SAFe, or other Agile, certification
• Experience working within performance-based contracts and federal acquisition environments
• Familiarity with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to foster collaborative work in a dynamic team environment
• Experience preparing executive-level briefings and communications products
• Active VA Public Trust or equivalent DoD security clearance

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
