Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a QA Engineer to join our team of qualified, and diverse individuals.

Candidates must be local to Washington, D.C.

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with engineering teams to define, document, analyze, execute, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
• Plays a key role in final system integration and validation to detect functional issues.
• Establishes internal quality control standards and oversees reliability programs.
• Develops, documents, and assesses highly intricate test cases, offering insights and suggestions for product or design enhancements.
• Ensures testing procedures align with industry-specific standards.
• Identifies persistent or systemic issues in testing and spearheads process improvements.
• Coordinates with vendors or suppliers to adapt or devise testing methodologies for components or other elements.
• Tackles advanced, complex technical projects or business challenges, leveraging cutting-edge technical expertise or industry insights.
• Operates independently, with goals typically communicated in terms of solution or project objectives.
• May assume a leadership position within the work group due to specialized knowledge in the field.
• Oversee the preparation, execution, and management of comprehensive CAT testing processes.
• Engage daily with business and technology teams across multiple applications, ensuring successful CAT execution and providing daily progress updates and issue remediation plans.
• Work with diverse teams to identify test requirements, validate scenarios, execute cases, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Partner with various leads to meet testing deadlines and ensure timely delivery.
• Document test results meticulously, develop and attach test artifacts in ALM, and share CAT artifacts with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage the defect process as per the CAT Approach/Plan, addressing critical issues promptly and driving them to resolution.
• Develop, modify, document, and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios based on software requirements, business process analysis, and customer change requests.
• Collaborate with test leads to develop and implement manual and automated QA test plans using technical requirements or design specifications.
• Execute and document both manual and automated test activities, conduct detailed analysis of test results, log defects, and ensure resolution.
• Investigate and propose methods and standards for continuous process improvement.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience or a High School dipoma and 6 years of experience.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Postal clearance.
• Relevant software testing and management expertise.
• Experience writing and implementing maunal and automated QA test plans using technical requirements or design specifications and produce automated test cases
• Proficient in Java, Python, R, XML, and JSON.
• Skilled in Agile and Waterfall development practices and their associated testing strategies.
• Experienced with ALM, UFT, Selenium, and VersionOne.
• Must have experience with tools such as SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Capable of performing all functional duties independently.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Active USPS security clearance.
• Familiarity with mail.xml is a plus. Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
