Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a senior-level Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD!

As a Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for various tasks, which could include the following:

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing- intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• An active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required
• Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production software for one of the following environments: Solaris, or Linux OS.
• High-Level Programming Languages: Four years (4) of demonstrated experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, C++, or Python.
• UNIX/Linux Operating Systems: At least three years (3) of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• RESTful Services: Demonstrated experience developing RESTful services.
• Containerization and Orchestration Technologies: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, crucial for building, deploying, and maintaining modern software applications.
• Open-Source Database Technologies: Demonstrated ability to work with Neo4j Graph Database and open-source (NoSQL) products such as HBase, Accumulo, BigTable, etc.
• Distributed Systems Design: Understanding of the principles and patterns essential for designing reliable, scalable, and maintainable distributed systems. Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ is advantageous.
• Agile and DevOps Methodologies: Proficient in Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, and DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and workflows to optimize the software development lifecycle.

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
