Senior Global Automation Engineer
Location: Singapore, Singapore
Overview Senior Global Automation Engineer will be reporting to the Global Automation Associate Manager, this is a central engineering role. The key focus will be responsible for the identification, prioritization, delivery, and management of automation capital spend across the business. Responsible for the identification, prioritization, delivery, and management of automation capital spend across the business. Providing ongoing technical guidance, governance and the resources required to deliver the enterprise capital plan across PGCS. Working with the broader teams (IT/Operations/Maintenance to ensure flawless execution of the strategic programs with a focus on delivering business case benefits). Supporting the execution of the key Strategic Programs required to deliver the transform to perform agenda (including scope, contract strategy, resource requirements, communications plan, safety, and quality management). Responsibilities Project & People Management: Experience and advocative of change management implementation. This role requires significant technical competency in the automation and operational technology field and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change in operational methods and the ability to manage teams of contractors and staff to deliver capital projects to a high standard within committed budget and schedule. Strong background in the development and implementation of new innovative automation solutions (robots, AGV’s, automated storage and retrieval systems). Experience in managing large complex projects in a muti cultural, multi-site environment. Experience in managing large contractor workforce and 3rd party consultants. Change management advocative. · Ensure Digital Factory initiatives have the required automation data points, connectivity and contextualisation to enable reliable MES ↔ Automation communication. · Configure, deploy and sustain AVEVA System Platform, OMI, InTouch and InBatch solutions across multiple sites. · Develop and maintain integration mechanisms between PLCs, System Platform and MES layers, including SQL-based data handling and validation. · Provide technical governance to ensure projects comply with PepsiCo automation specifications, GAMP principles and industry best practice. · Support incident management, troubleshooting and lifecycle sustainment of OT platforms across global sites. · Assist in developing and maintaining OT standards, documentation and approved design patterns. · Deliver knowledge transfer and technical training to site teams to ensure successful operational handover. · Engage collaboratively with global stakeholders across Engineering, IT, Digital Factory and Supply Chain functions. Standardisation & Training: Ensure all projects are designed and executed to the PGCS automation and Global PepsiCo specifications standards, ensure all projects meet compliance standards and industry best practice. Develop and provide technical training at all levels on the manufacturing sites to ensure effective handover of automation equipment and systems. Qualifications Automation or Engineering Degree coupled with 7-10 years plus demonstrated track record in chemical or pharma or food environment. Experience with defining and driving Automation/Operational Technology capital programs. Strong IT (Information Technology) knowledge (networks, databases etc.) Experience with development, integration and project management of automated control systems including e.g. PLC’s, SCADA, Batching Systems etc. Experience with all appropriate industry standards (e.g., S88/S95) Experience with integrating control systems with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Experience with project/program execution within complex manufacturing environments. Demonstrated Industry 4.0 experience and results. Innovation – Identify and understand new, enabling, and leading-edge technologies with the ability to assist in deploying these solutions to our business partners. Excellent communication skills, be organized and articulate. Experience in managing large complex projects in a muti cultural, multi-site environment.
