Overview As a Food Designer, the role entails a deeper engagement in the design and development of food projects, with a special emphasis on innovative packaging and branding. This position involves leading the creation of visually appealing and functionally effective design elements for food products, contributing significantly to the brand’s presence in the market. The role demands a proactive approach in collaborating with both senior designers, manager and cross-functional teams, ensuring that design outcomes align with the company's strategic goals and resonate with consumers. The L7 Food Designer is expected to bring a blend of creativity and technical expertise, particularly in translating food trends and consumer insights into compelling design solutions. This position plays a key role in shaping the visual and tactile aspects of food products, enhancing consumer appeal and strengthening brand identity across various touchpoints. Responsibilities Contribution to Strategy and Execution: Actively contribute to developing brand design solutions within the food design team, focusing on specific design tasks and projects. Responsible for executing design elements as part of a broader strategy. Design Involvement: Participate in the design process from ideation through execution, contributing to the creative development of food packaging design. Responsible for executing assigned design tasks. Creating Quality Design Solutions: Involved in the creation of high-quality food design solutions, working under the guidance of senior designers. Responsible for the execution and quality of design work. Applying Design Principles: Apply and adapt consistent design principles specific to food designs, contributing to cohesive and appealing packaging designs. Involved in the execution and application of these principles. Visual Identity Development: Assist in developing and refining the visual identity for key food brands, collaborating with various teams. Contribute creative input and execute design tasks as part of a larger team. Development of Creative Proposals: Participate in generating and visualizing design proposals, supporting the creative process. Responsible for executing design tasks and sharing outcomes with the team. Research and Application: Engage in research activities to inform design decisions and translate insights into practical design solutions. Responsible for executing design work informed by research findings. Support in Design Approvals: Contribute to the process of obtaining final design recommendations and approvals, providing detailed design work and insights. Involved in the execution and refinement of design elements. Project Execution Support: Assist in considering all project variables to ensure successful execution of design projects. Involved in executing design tasks and contributing to project success. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in FMCG design, with a strong focus on packaging, branding. Advanced understanding of design principles, particularly as they apply to food and beverage products, including packaging and branding. Proficiency in graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite. Capable of managing multiple projects efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational and project management skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, capable of adapting quickly to changing project needs and industry trends. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and an ability to articulate design concepts clearly. Skilled in developing, visualizing, and executing sophisticated design concepts for food products, including creating prototypes, packaging designs, and visual branding elements. Committed to staying current with trends in food design, and consumer preferences, showing a passion for ongoing learning and innovation in the food design field. Experience in leading collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, including technical, marketing, and product development departments. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead design projects, mentoring junior designers and contributing positively to team dynamics. Clear, confident articulation of design ideas, open to receiving and integrating constructive feedback to refine and improve design outcomes.
