The Opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Azure Data Architect with proven managerial skills to lead and mentor our growing data engineering team. This role is critical in driving our cloud-first data strategy, designing and implementing robust data solutions on the Azure platform, and ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Azure data services, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for building high-performing teams. This role will involve both hands-on technical work as well as strategic planning and team management. Your Impact As CTO Manager your responsibilities would consist of: Technical Leadership & Architecture: * Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions on Azure, including data lakes, data warehouses, real-time streaming solutions, and ETL pipelines. * Lead the architectural design and implementation of data governance frameworks, data quality processes, and master data management solutions. * Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics) to meet business needs. * Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team. * Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure data services and best practices. * Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Azure data solutions. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues. Team Leadership & Management: * Lead, mentor, and coach a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. * Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities for team members. * Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of projects. * Participate in the hiring process for new data engineers. * Contribute to team capacity planning and resource allocation. * Promote best practices for software development, code reviews, and testing within the team. Strategic Planning & Collaboration: * Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. * Contribute to the development of the overall data strategy for the organization. * Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives. * Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. * Proactively identify opportunities to improve data processes and infrastructure.
Who Are We Looking For? Education * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience * 12+ years of experience in data architecture and development, with a significant focus on the Azure cloud platform. * 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role. * Deep understanding of Azure data services and their appropriate use cases. * Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data solutions on Azure. * Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. * Experience with various data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL). * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable. * Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus. * Experience with data governance and security best practices.
