POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Research Data Management Specialist. This position will work as part of a pediatric nutrition research laboratory to develop and implement a data pipeline and to prepare multiple types of data collected as part of a Federally funded study for hosting in public websites.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop data processing manuals that detail instructions for cleaning, storing, deidentifying, and analyzing clinical, behavioral, cognitive, genetic, neuroimaging, and observational (video) data.
  • Clean, identify, and prepare laboratory data for sharing with collaborators.
  • Work with Principal Investigator to ensure that data practices are compliant with Federal guidelines
  • Prepare data processing manuals, data collection instruments, and scoring protocols for hosting on public websites.
  • Work with Principal Investigator and members of the team to advise on data analysis processes using R, Python, Matlab, or other programs
  • Prepare written reports of data analyses for contributions to publications
  • Conduct training sessions with staff and students on best practices in data analysis and stewardship

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful candidate should be fluent in various computing and statistical packages, especially R and python.
  • Experience working with neuroimaging data preferred, but not required.  

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

LOCATION

The position is based at the University Park Campus, in State College, PA; however, flexible work arrangements, such as remote or hybrid work opportunities, may be considered.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
