Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer/Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application administration, support, and optimization in mid-to-large IT infrastructure environments. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and improvement of critical applications in both production and non-production environments.

Responsibilities:

• Application Management:

  • Installation, configuration, and administration of applications in production and non-production environments.
  • Continuous monitoring and performance tuning to enhance application efficiency and quality of service.

• Support and Maintenance:

  • Perform incident, change, release, and problem resolution activities.
  • Provide expert application support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

• Documentation and Automation:

  • Develop and validate comprehensive application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup, and restore plans.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks and create technical support documentation as needed.

• DevOps and Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement automated deployment and configuration scripting using tools like Git, Azure DevOps, and Python.
  • Administer and support Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications (e.g., helm charts, operators, pipelines).

• Collaboration and Process Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, including incident, change, and release management.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement configuration management solutions (e.g., Puppet) and align with DevOps best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Over 6 years of experience in IT within mid-to-large infrastructure environments, including application deployment, support, and maintenance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in:
    • Administration and support of Microsoft Windows Servers (Windows Server 2019+) or Red Hat Linux (RHEL 8+).
    • Application administration, support, and configuration.
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps tools and automated deployment scripting (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Python).
  • 4+ years of experience in Kubernetes cluster and application administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with application configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet).

• Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server-side operating systems and applications.
  • Proficiency in application containerization and deployment on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Familiarity with configuration management technologies and DevOps principles.

• Certifications:

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

• Process Knowledge:

  • Sound understanding of ITIL processes for incident, change, and release management.
