Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a Performance Engineer with a solid background in full-stack development to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your development expertise to design, implement, and optimize performance-focused solutions across our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will play a critical role in driving Shift Left Performance, enhancing the integration of performance engineering practices across CI/CD pipelines, test environments, and monitoring tools. This is a unique opportunity to blend product development and performance engineering, impacting the performance and reliability of our platform from the ground up.

The Performance Engineering Team drives system efficiency, scalability, and
reliability by analyzing and optimizing application and platform performance through
automated performance products and driving a shift-left approach
We focus on developing tools for continuous profiling, latency monitoring, and
automated bottleneck detection, enabling seamless performance insights at scale.
Collaborating across engineering domains, we drive optimization initiatives, improve
resource efficiency, and ensure consistent governance.

Your way to impact

  • You will design and maintain backend services and APIs, integrating performance engineering principles to ensure high scalability, reliability, and seamless interoperability with other SDLC tools.

  • You will develop and enhance full-stack components that support the Performance Engineering platform, ensuring smooth integration with CI/CD workflows, observability tools, and other system capabilities.

  • You will partner closely with cross-functional experts responsible for building a great experience. You will assume centralized ownership of best in breed Performance applications/tools to set vision and build toward a best-in-class future state. 

Your Day to Day

  • You will develop and enhance full-stack components that support the Performance Engineering platform, ensuring smooth integration with CI/CD workflows, observability tools, and other system capabilities

  • You will implement performance testing, monitoring, and optimization early in the SDLC, embedding these practices into CI/CD pipelines and test environments to proactively improve system performance.

  • You will work closely with DevOps, observability, and reliability engineering teams to ensure performance goals align with cross-functional objectives, supporting efficient, performance-aware product releases.

  • You will document performance engineering processes, backend service architectures, and integration details, contributing to a knowledge-sharing culture within the team.

What you need to bring

  • Strong full-stack development experience, ideally within performance-focused or reliability-driven environments.

  • Proficient in backend programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.), API design, and database management; knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.

  • Proven ability to optimize systems for high throughput, scalability, and minimal latency.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Harness) and a strong understanding of test automation and performance metrics within the SDLC.

  • Familiar with performance testing and monitoring tools and techniques; capable of identifying, diagnosing, and addressing performance bottlenecks.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$72700 to $176000
