Senior Software Engineer

What you need to know about the role: The Xoom Customer Service Tools team is looking for an experienced, full-stack software engineer to support and optimize multiple internal tools used by teams around the world. These platforms support our teammates in providing world-class customer service to our Xoom customers. Your focus will be on executing on the Xoom CS Tools roadmap, supporting existing platforms, driving efficient and impactful solutions to our customers, and continuing to innovate wherever possible. Meet our team: The Xoom Customer Service enterprise platforms, including the primary CRM, play a crucial role in supporting our teammates around the world who manage the relationships with our customers and prospective customers. To provide the excellent customer service, it's imperative that these platforms reliably, efficiently and effectively function for our users. Failure of the platforms to meet these requirements can be detrimental to our ability to assist customers in their important time of need and provide us the resources we need to manage customer accounts and data. As a Software Engineer on the Xoom Customer Service Tools team, you'll work directly with the Product organization and Domain Technical Leads to execute on an exciting roadmap, driving innovation and ultimately bringing Xoom customers a world class experience through our global customer service teams.

Your way to impact:

• Prior hands-on experience, working as a full-stack software engineer
• Experience working with coding languages—preferably SQL, Java, Spring and Spring Boot, React, Test Driven Development
• Experience with Rest APIs
• Proficient in Reddis, Docker and Docker-compose
• Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Have a passion for quality and writing clean and solid code that scales and performs well
• Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.

Your day to day:

• Consistently deliver technical solutions in an Agile team, following most standard scrum ceremonies, bi-weekly sprint planning and daily stand-ups
• Participate in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing and production release.
• Be proactive with identifying areas for improvement and innovation to improve development productivity 
• Work with Product Managers and other business partners to identify opportunities for improvement
• Analyze data based on product requirements and challenge solution requirements when appropriate
• Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data
• Structure large data sets to find usable information
• Build networks of relationships to support dependencies outside of our team

What do you need to bring-

• Must have a BS or MS/PhD Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
• 5+ years of planning, designing, and full stack development experience
• 5+ years of Java, Spring, and SpringBoot
• Knowledge of REST and best practices in designing and developing APIs
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and React
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
