Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented MTS2 Software Engineer to help us strengthen our world-class risk prevention and mitigation systems. The candidate should have full-stack experience and comfortable working with front-end, back-end tech stacks and modern data platforms. The Compliance Insights Platform and Data Solutions team is responsible to provide insights and ML enabled automation for enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance services across PayPal - globally. To achieve this, we are always looking at advances in technology likes AI, Machine learning, and data science and tying those back to business needs. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for helping shape the future of mission-critical enterprise management risk systems. You will be collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operations to design and develop features for our highly complex and heavily distributed risk environment. Our engineers build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a deep understanding of business processes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide architecture and engineering leadership, define architecture solutions, form best practices, work with Engineering and Product counterparts across the globe in an insight platform and data solution organization
• Drive both technology and product innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
• Adhere to best of class coding and design standards.
• Strong analytical, research, problem solving and evaluative thinking skills
• Strong communication skills - including ability to listen to the needs of others and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present effectively in both oral and written presentations to all levels in the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related area.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
• Good understanding and experience applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles.
• Deep Familiarity with JavaScript, NodeJS, React, Angular and Spring framework.
• Experience with web front end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap.
• Competent in at least one coding language like java/Scala, as well as algorithms.
• Sound knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases.
• Competent in software engineering tools and best practices.
• Strong Debugging and Problem resolution skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• Excellent communication and soft skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams across time zones is essential.
• Experience with Ruby on rails is a plus.
• Experience in Cloud services like GCP, AWS, etc. is a plus.
